SUMMARY

Ansys is looking for a Head of Global Marketing Operations.

This role will own marketing planning, reporting and operations and will be responsible for designing and managing the business processes to run the marketing team, including investment prioritization, budget allocation and management, reporting and goal definition and tracking.

You will work closely with cross functional teams to establish best practices, procedural rigor, operational and process improvement, and analytical insights.

Insights developed on this team will drive marketing decisions and influence key go-to-market approaches around the world.

This role will help lead the way on defining team objectives, management system and operating rhythm for the team.

To be successful, they will need to be a big-picture strategic thinker, who is also able to work with close attention to the details.  Someone who is a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity and an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

They should be an excellent communicator, expected to ask the tough questions, to challenge the status quo, and who knows how to drive change.  They will also need to play a horizontal role, building relationships across sales, lines of businesses, multiple partner teams and stakeholder groups.  This person will be an important culture carrier for the organization, who models the right behaviors for the team and helps create a shared sense of purpose, leadership and accountability with and for the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• PROCESS IMPROVEMENT | MARTECH MANAGEMENT

– Drive development and optimization of marketing processes, systems and infrastructure that enable marketing to scale globally.

• Continually work to simplify systems and processes, avoiding customization bloat and over-engineered processes.

• Ensure processes are designed, documented, understood, and followed in a way that minimizes bad or incomplete data.

– Manage campaign execution process in partnership with the Global Campaigns and Field Marketing teams.

• Responsible for defining and monitoring optimal execution process and ensuring best practices as well as training/enabling other marketing team members.

– Optimize lead qualification, scoring and routing criteria to ensure the delivery of qualified leads across multiple business lines and global sales teams.

– Monitor feedback from the marketing team to improve processes and promote efficiency by analyzing campaign performance and helping teams with operational adjustments.

– Oversee marketing technology stack, systems and processes (i.e.

Pardot and enabling technologies).

• Responsible for system administration, security, integration, user guidelines and ongoing optimization working closely with Sales Operations and IT.

– Take ownership of and maintenance of all marketing software/tools for tracking marketing work to help create visibility and efficiency across the marketing team.

• Drive enablement and change management as new tools and systems are launched and operationalized; establish and update training programs and documentation for marketing technologies, processes, and best practices.

– Evaluate new technologies and process/workflow enhancements to improve and optimize marketing performance.

– Build project timelines and collaborate with the cross-functional teams on meeting the execution timing on key project activities.

Keep projects on task and on time.

• ANALYTICS | REPORTING | SEGMENTATION | DATA

– Develop Marketing Dashboards to track key success metrics for the team and executive leadership.

Deliver weekly/monthly/quarterly business metrics, pipeline contribution, actual vs.

target metrics and overall business performance reports.

• Partner with Sales Operations, LDR, IT and other key stakeholders on funnel and pipeline reporting to drive key decision making and delivering goals.

• Enable self-serve reporting and program analytics for marketing teams globally.

– Track and report on the entire marketing funnel including volume, velocity, conversion stage-to-stage, and average value; make sure funnel measures can be analyzed by key dimensions such as industry, geo, and persona.

• Work to measure campaign performance and with business leaders to course-correct as campaign execution unfolds.

• Benchmark Ansys’ current marketing activities, performance, and investment against industry best practices, and develop a roadmap for improvements.

– Provide strategic whitespace analysis and segmentation support to marketing stakeholders.

– Work with cross functional teams to maintain data within sales and marketing systems with an eye on database growth, contact and account enrichment, data governance, and quality, as well as vigilant attention to data security and compliance with company policies and governmental regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, etc..

• Ensure continual data compliance across global marketing teams.

• PLANNING | BUDGETING

– Orchestrate the annual marketing planning process (e.g.

milestones, participants, actions, templates, calendar), ensuring marketing’s goals are aligned with sales and product objectives.

– Run the quarterly objectives and key results (OKR) planning process; Responsible for setting and tracking team progress against OKRs.

– Partner with finance teams to manage and balance the global marketing budget; drive fiduciary responsibility; work with all regions and teams to track & report performance, optimize programs and ensure effectiveness and ROI of their programs.

– Drive and own challenging decisions on resource alignment, both people and dollars, across the business to meet changing needs.

• COLLABORATION | INTEGRATION

• Build and maintain key relationships with global leaders from Corporate, Digital, Field and Product Marketing, Sales, SalesOps, Finance, and the Business Units / Product Management.

• Strategic alignment and integration of acquisitions in the areas of onboarding, enablement, marketing technology alignment, planning to performance process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent industry experience required. 

• 10+ years of marketing, analytics or operations experience, preferably in a B2B, high-growth marketing environment.

• Strong cross functional relationship development skills, ability to manage highly competent people to high levels of performance, and skill in establishing effective program management processes.

• Proven success leading a global team and working across cultures with distributed cross-functional teams.

• Ability to effectively develop and build new functional and operational processes.

• Proactively shape new ways to track, visualize, and unlock insights around marketing engagement and programs.

• Strong understanding of Marketing technology landscape, measurement, and attribution approaches.

• Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques, segmentation, research, lifetime value, and ROI.

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, global environment with great attention to detail.

• Excellent presentation skills.

Comfortable using data to bring up new opportunities and best practices to your teammates to improve the way we operate and grow.

• Strong management and project management skills.

• Must be self-starter, able to take leadership, visionary position while also being a “doer”.

• Critical thinker, ability to creatively solve problems, deal with ambiguity and a fast-paced changing environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a large, fast-growing SaaS company and/or in the high-tech sector preferred.

• Hands-on experience with Salesforce CRM (particularly Leads/Contacts/Campaigns/Account objects), Pardot, Adobe AEM platform, Google Analytics, Drift, Hotjar, and Allocadia preferred.

• Experience with BI tools highly desirable (PowerBI and/or Tableau) as is experience across multiple areas of web optimization, including web analytics, personalization, A/B and multivariate testing.

• Strong grasp of collaboration and asset management tools including Monday.com.
