About the role:

Join Takeda as a Manufacturing Tech IV where you will implement processes in production, environmental health, and safety guidelines and participate in departmental projects and quality working teams. Reporting to the Supervisor and Manufacturing Lead, you will aid in the leadership and execution of activities in the production area.

Location: Glendale, CA

Schedule: 2nd Shift (2 PM to 10:30 PM)

Monday through Friday

*5% shift differential

 

How you will contribute:

  • Assemble and disassemble centrifuges, troubleshoot problems, perform preventive maintenance on critical manufacturing equipment, and respond to process alarms

  • Maximize the life of centrifuge bowls, components, tools, and ancillary support equipment through operator care principles

  • Perform hands-on execution of manual and automated manufacturing operations on equipment

  • Perform weighing and addition of chemicals and paste suspension

  • Perform equipment and room cleaning, equipment assembly/disassembly, and transfer panel connections and titrations

  • Help with on-the-job training of other Manufacturing Techs on SOPs for centrifuge assembly, disassembly, and operations

  • Follow safety rules, SOPs, cGMP, work rules and other company policies and programs

  • Complete paperwork following GDP/GMP guidelines

  • Receive and distribute supplies to production areas

  • Collaborate with maintenance, metrology, engineering and validation regarding manufacturing related issues

  • May lead in organizing, scheduling, and directing other team members

  • Write and revise manufacturing related documents

  • Participate in Safety and Continuous Improvement Teams

  • Use production scheduling tools DeltaV, Manufacturing Execution Systems and other supporting tools

  • Create maintenance work orders using JDEdwards

  • Perform removal of hazardous waste

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with 4+ years’ experience or AA degree or higher with 2+ years’ experience

  • Mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or control systems repair experience

  • Complete centrifuge written proficiency and hands-on assembly/disassembly test

  • Advanced automation experience using DeltaV, Electronic Batch Management, and PLC

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical production equipment and operating material handling equipment

  • Proficient in basic mathematical disciplines and can work with metric and USA standards of measurement

  • Experience with LIMS and JD Edwards

  • Physical aspects include lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 lbs.

  • Will climbs ladders, bend, twist, reach, and squat to perform tasks

  • Work in a confined area

Important Considerations:

As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product or putting anyone at the site in harm’s way. You may

  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection
