Manufacturing Technician

Job Description: Electronic Component Level troubleshooting and repair Develop and evaluate repair processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; and soliciting feedback from operators.

Manage continuous improvement activities to improve depot efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities’ establishing standards; and validating manufacturing processes.

Create, modify, and maintain depot test software Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Perform root cause analysis of technical issues and provide containment and corrective actions.

Support engineering to production transition efforts for new products.

Support design, development, and implementation of cost-effective procedures for testing and troubleshooting of components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and systems Support development of test plans, test procedures, requirements traceability, test reports, test flow, and test case design and implementation Document testing issues and failures and perform analysis of test results Support formal systems acceptance testing activities Present test strategies, plans, and results to internal and external customers Support failure investigation activities and failure review board (FRB) meeting.

Candidate will be responsible for the oversite / generation of shop orders / work order flow tags in preparation for testing.

Candidate will be responsible for understanding, properly using and maintaining the depot test sets and test equipment.

Candidate will familiar with MIL-STD-461F EMI/EMC qualification and testing.

Job Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

Experience in a manufacturing, repair depot, or integration environment.

Knowledge of communications systems, software languages, automated software test, networks, network security, power systems, and/or mechanical design and analysis Experience with process improvement tools including Lean, Six Sigma, 5S or Kaizen.

Candidate needs strong Office tool skills along with a broad instrumentation hardware and software knowledge.
