Manufacturing Engineer – Gen II Paint Unit Manufacturing

Responsibilities Altec is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer
– Gen II Paint to join their team located in St.

Joseph, MO.

In this position you will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the manufacturing process of aerial devices and digger derricks.

Should the selected candidate meet the qualifications of a more experienced level in the career path, the job level may be adjusted.

Qualifications ABET EAC certified bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a master’s degree in Engineering Ability to sit for/pass FE exam Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an engineering role after earning the Degree in Engineering Applicable Masters counts as one year of experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying.

Must be willing to make a 2-year commitment Responsibilities Manage implementation of Gen II Powder Paint System and/or improvement efforts on the Gen II Powder Paint System Expected to become plants Paint COE through experience and additional trainings provided Ensure manufacturing is building product in conformance to current engineering documentation and Altec Paint Standards Develop competency and promote APS techniques and metrics to drive continuous improvement Communicate with customers and suppliers on issues of technical specifications, product design and operations as appropriate Support Operations, Sales, and Service Interface directly with Suppliers and Customers Utilize Lean principles to improve our painting processes and products Operate with some decision-making latitude within the scope of an assignment.

Coordinates with the team and supervision/management to lead results-based outcomes.

Review the design of new and old components to ensure design allows for proper paint application Routinely monitor costs, manpower efficiency, and machine capability associated with the paint system and deploys efforts to maintain or improve the system Coach or supervise wastewater technicians/ paint co-ops Participate and contribute with Corporate Paint Team to create and share best practices Lead continuous improvement paint efforts in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost Lead and implement capital projects to improve throughput, safety and quality associated within the paint system Customer First
