This position requires that candidates provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination after receiving a conditional job offer at least 7 days prior to their start date. “Fully vaccinated” means that at least two weeks have passed since you received 1) your second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or 2) one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Primary Responsibility / Summary

Performs roadside clean-up services along city streets and rights-of-way for City of Palm Springs Contract. Per government requirements, this role required to be fully COVID- 19 vaccinated.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Performs roadside maintenance services consisting of policing and litter pick-up to remove paper, glass, trash, vegetation and other accumulated debris from city streets and rights-of-way.
  2. Clears fallen palm fronds from roads and streets.
  3. Removes debris and/or vegetation located in streets and rights-of-ways resulting from traffic accidents, illegal dumping, paint, diesel and oil spills, abandoned mattresses and appliances, downed trees and other vegetation, rain and wind storms, and transient camps.
  4. Maintains log sheet of daily activities and hours worked.
  5. Receives and implements instructions from City point-of-contact.
  6. Has responsibility for sorting waste material at City waste collection site.
  7. Responds to emergency call-outs, altering scheduled activities to respond.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Performs other roadside and grounds maintenance related duties as assigned by supervisor.
