The connection between housing and homelessness is generally intuitive, but the strong link between health and homelessness is often overlooked. According to the American Public Health Association, people experiencing homelessness have high rates of chronic mental and physical health conditions. The People Concern is a social service agency that provides a fully-integrated system of care for people experiencing homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, medical issues, and/or domestic violence. On-site and field-based mental health staff provide psychiatric care, counseling and other services to our program participants. Our efforts work – 92% of participants placed in permanent supportive housing by The People Convert never experience homelessness again.

Ideal qualifications:
- MSW, MFT, LPC, AMFT, APCC, or PsyD
- Registered or eligible to be licensed with California’s Board of Behavioral Sciences (supervision hours available)
- At least one year of experience working with clients experiencing homelessness and with mental illness, chronic health issues, and substance use disorders
- Able to work in a high-tolerance, harm reduction model with individuals who have multiple barriers
- Case Management experience a plus, but not required
