Job DescriptionWarehouse Assistant Reports toWarehouse ManagerCollaboratorsStaging Design Project Managers, Junior Project Managers, Senior Installation Manager, Junior Installation ManagerSummaryThe purpose of the warehouse assistant is to serve as the warehouses representative on all deliveries, move-ins, and move-outs ensuring all items are properly tagged and packaged to be stored, deployed or returned safely to the warehouse. They are responsible for closely monitoring the companys web- based inventory and ensuring that items are ready for projects and returned back from projects in an orderly and efficient manner. They are also responsible for daily problem-solving activities in relation to inventory items.Position RequirementsServe as the main point of contact for the companys warehouse team for all orders and deliveries to the warehouseServe as the main point of contact for the companys warehouse team for all inventory items that are being returned to the warehouse once a staging rental is completedSend regular updates to respective project managers regarding the status of their ordered or returned itemsAnswer any questions the staging design team or installation team has as they relate to items on order or received at the warehouseCoordinate with the Senior Warehouse Manager the communication with the design team as it relates to shipping delays or orders that arrive with missing or damaged items as well as to missing or damaged items from projectsUse the ASH NYC portal to digitally confirm receipt of all ordered itemsFix any Portal inventory or project records as needed / seen during ordinary work operationsPartner with the Senior Warehouse Manager in the creation of IDs for any new artwork created in the warehouseEnsure that all items either outgoing or incoming are properly labeled ensure that items are pulled, packaged, inspected, and loaded to await outgoing shipments, and, if applicable, that the Portal reflects current positionsEnsure that all items are unpacked, inspected, checked in properly, and updated in portal upon return from project or initial deliveryAssist the Senior Warehouse Manager as directedCommunicate with the Senior Warehouse Manager when a Portal issue or idea for a change arisesUpdate the portal with all status changes, notes, etc. as needed to ensure consistency and brand standards at the direction of the Senior Warehouse ManagerAssist in other division project-specific and portal work as needed, most notably Product, Design, Residential, and in some cases, HotelsSkills and Experience3+ years of relevant experience in a warehouse environmentExperience with furniture and homeware industries preferredDirect vendor relationship experience preferredProven track record of consistency, detail-orientation, and follow-through Proficient in the ASH Portal, and Microsoft ExcelHigh School Degree, or equivalent, requiredAttributesPunctual – you respect others time and work to always complete tasks in the required timelines setNaturally organized – without any third-party direction, you seek the pinnacle of organization and consistency within all components of your professional lifePerfectionist – you are naturally inclined to root out any imperfections whenever they present themselvesDown-to-earth – while you like being recognized and rewarded as all people do, you are comfortable being the person supporting the leaders of the brand, and deferring to client requests as they come inEnergetic – you thrive in fast-paced environments and are ready for significant workload changes at moments’ noticeSystem-oriented – you thrive in environments where there is a clear, consistent system in place to complete work, and enjoy building and molding such systems over timeStrong – you have physical strength required for moving and lifting heavy items on a regular basis StatementASH NYC is an equal opportunity employer that maintains a welcoming and open company culture.
