Warehouse Manager

About the Role
The Warehouse Manager manages all aspects of our construction warehouse, including safety, equipment/tools, staff, shipping/receiving and inventory. It is a critical role that requires experience in management and logistics. You will oversee the warehouse staff as well as coordinate with multiple teams to keep tools, equipment and materials stocked, carted, and distributed to various job site locations throughout the greater Los Angeles area. You will work closely with core United Dwelling teams including procurement, pre-construction, construction operations, and property management, to ensure each field team has all necessary tools, materials, and equipment, needed to operate.
This is a full-time salaried position with benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining, receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations
- Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures.
- Training and supervising other warehouse staff
- Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements
- Help coordinating, establishing, and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Maintains inventory levels by conducting physical counts, reconciling with data storage system.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse and property by planning and implementing design layouts
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Helping maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Ensuring warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and working with Human Resources disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Ensuring that quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a related warehouse field
- 3+ years of leadership/management experience desired
- Bachelor’s degree a plus
- Strong communication skills
- Strong computer skills are a requirement
- Familiarity with inventory software management and shipping platforms is desired
- Familiarity with construction tools, materials, and equipment
- Strong analytic, project management, and reporting skills
