Headquartered in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, we deliver affordable and increasingly renewable energy to 22 million customers across central and Southern California.Primary Purpose:Leads, designs, and executes primary and secondary research studies related to all areas of the company.

Drives strategic direction for new research efforts and directs their implementation.

Project manages research studies to ensure that timeline, budget, and business partner goals are met.

Leads projects by managing internal resources and external suppliers.

Proactively identifies company needs and leverages research findings to develop business insights and inform strategies for achieving company and internal business partner goals.

Makes presentations to management on project status and recommends solutions to various challenges.

Coordinates and monitors the activities of outside research consultants and reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of their research.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Leads the planning, design, execution, and project management of strategic market research studies including quantitative, qualitative, and usability testing for assigned business partners/projects.Manages relationships with key internal business partners and stakeholders.

Communicates with business partners and interview stakeholders to understand business needs and collect business requirements.

Recommends and executes research project activities.Designs and reviews study questionnaires, program ad-hoc online research surveys, analyze data collected and compiles results and creates reports and presentations.Develops reporting templates and infographics for effectively communicating study results.Reports results and provides recommendations for action/next steps for a variety of audiences.

This could include a full report, presentation, story for executives, etc.Conducts market assessments and secondary research leveraging current internal and external data (e.G., demographics, industry data) and analytics to provide a complete picture of the customer to internal business partners.Prepares monthly activity reports for department.Provides additional customer insights to management and internal business partners.

Assists in leading team members within the Customer Insights & Analytics team, the extended Customer Strategy & Engagement (CS&E) team, and other members of the organization as required by business needs.Analyzes and incorporates customer demographics, segment data and primary & secondary research intomarketing strategies to maximize results.Leverages data modeling to support Customer Communications, Strategy, Customer Programs, Customer Research, etc.

IVR, Web) to provide customer and program insights.Stays apprised of cutting-edge research and insights and implements innovative market research solutions by maintaining knowledge of developments in the fields of primary and secondary consumer research and applicable regulatory requirements.Processes and tracks vendor invoices.

Allocates charges to business units and other internal departments.

Provides budget research and support.

Works with Supply Management to establish new vendor relationships and purchase orders.Understands business partner and company goals to help develop/execute insights projects.

Builds strong business partner connections and serves as a consultant.

Leverages insights to help shape strategies and decision-making.Provides training and guidance to subordinate staff; act in lead capacity onspecial projects as required.Responds to historical research and data requests required by various departments, divisions and regulatory agencies.Provides counsel and advice to senior management, other departments, industry allies, various governmental entities, and major customers on the more complex and sensitive consumer issues.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in marketing, research, statistics, I/O Psychology or organizational development, or related field is required.5+ years in recent professional experience working in market research, statistics, math, business analytics, or related areas is required.Experience working in the energy industry is preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must have detailed knowledge of primary (qualitative and quantitative) and secondary research techniques and applications.Must have strong market research skill set, including judgment and proficiency in overall research methodology and research design, ability to understand a business situation and turn it into strategic and/or tactical research objectives, and specifically, familiarity with advanced analytics and appropriate application to survey research data, turning the analytical output into lay terms and recommended actions, proficiency in questionnaire design and writing, analytics planning, proficient in turning research information into data visualization and reporting that tells a story.Strong project management skillset required; Knowledge of operations(technology) management and the difference in application from project management.Demonstrated capability to handle multiple projects, competing deadlines, urgent requests, etc.; Volunteer to lead special projects.Judgment is required in scheduling, budgeting, and overseeing major research projects.Experience with statistical data analytic tools (e.G.

SAS, SPSS) required; Familiarity with company internal databases & data systems (e.G.

CIS,ICDA) preferred.Demonstrated diplomacy and tact when dealing with senior management, coworkers, consultants, other utilities, and regulatory agencies.
