Job Summary

The Lawrence J.

Ellison Institute is seeking a talented and passionate Research Lab Specialist to join its team.

As part of the Ellison Institute, the Research Lab Specialist is responsible for collaborating with principal investigator and other researchers to plan, design and conduct highly technical and complex research projects.

Analyzes research data and provides interpretations.

Contributes to the development of research documentation for publication.

The Institute is made up of a diverse group of innovative and talented professionals who work in a fast-paced environment that provides ongoing support to research projects, patient care, lab research and administrative operations.

The Research Lab Specialist is responsible for performing the following job duties:

Job Accountabilities:
Planning, designing and conducting highly technical and complex research projects under the direction of a supervisor with the ability to design and implement new analytical methods.

Analyzes research data and provides interpretations.

Contributes to the development of research documentation for publication.

Operates and maintains sophisticated laboratory/scientific equipment like liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).

Work in close collaboration with center members as well as industry partners both on technical aspects (method development, data analysis) as well as administrative aspects.

Involve in manuscript preparation as well as internal and external oral presentations.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Minimum Education: Related graduate study.

Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.

Minimum Experience: 5 years

Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education and experience in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods and ability to supervise on a regular or project basis.

Preferred Education: Master’s degree in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, or other relevant discipline.

Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.

Preferred Experience: Experience with LC/MS, HPLC, metabolomics, proteomics

Preferred Field of Expertise: Molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, or other relevant discipline.

Salary Range: $63,900
– $88,669
