You in?

About This Role

This job is about defining and implementing the future of our data warehouse and business intelligence.

In this role you will work with our leaders in understanding where their business intelligence needs are, and ultimately implementing an architecture and data warehouse that supports the business for years to come.

This role will report directly to the Head of Engineering, but will work strategically with other leaders in the company.

We recently rebuilt our platform with an updated tech stack that includes Python, Vue.js, Nuxt.js, Node, Javascript, AWS, ElasticSearch, all in a CICD environment, and are working towards a federated service-oriented architecture.

We have data in google analytics, facebook insights, as well as proprietary data stores we need to co-locate and unlock the value of this data.

On the day-to-day, you’ll be:

  • Working with the Head of Engineering and other leaders on understanding the strategy around the data warehouse and its requirements.
  • Designing and implementing the future of our Business Intelligence capabilities and what visualization tools to integrate with.
  • Building infrastructure to handle hundreds of petabytes of user data using… what you think is best!
  • Validating the performance of your amazing architecture through telemetry and dashboards

This is a unique role best suited for someone who can fearlessly take a task and run with it, and use their broad expertise to work through the whole stack with confidence.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • 8+ years of industry experience, preferably with an e-commerce SaaS/PaaS company
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and tools surrounding business intelligence (Redshift, Snowflake, Kafka, Map/Reduce, Hive, Hadoop)
  • Experience implementing a data warehouse and working with internal stakeholders
  • Expertise with AWS and ETL

In your first six months, success means learning the needs of business intelligence and making progress on the new architecture, ideally being able to answer one or two of our business hypothesis with the data intelligence you unlock.
