Data Warehouse Engineer

The Business Solutions team is looking for a hands-on Data Warehouse Engineer who will be responsible for the design and development of a cloud-based data warehouse solution for our firm. The candidate should have versatile experience in data architecture, data modeling, database design and extensive working knowledge using Azure cloud services. What You Will Do Build a conceptual, logical, and physical data model for an enterprise data warehouse solution using data analysis results from multiple data sources Responsible for the design, ingestion, preparation, testing, deployment, troubleshooting and production support for a cloud-based data warehouse Design and create tables, views, partitions, functions, indexes and other database objects Implement data pipelines to ingest, prepare and move data to a data warehouse using cloud technologies Create source-to-target data mapping specifications for ETL development Write stored procedures to perform business logic and data transformations Develop and perform integration, system performance and regression testing Collect, organize, and analyze data with the ability to summarize findings and provide recommendations Translate business requirements into written technical specifications for all aspects related to the buildout of an enterprise data warehouse Provide recommendations, insights, and best practices for implementing cloud technology tools Suggest new initiatives and process improvements based on data observations Collaborate with Data Management and Operations teams to ensure data is governed and has the appropriate data quality controls Provide technical support and collaborate with other members of the business solutions team What You Will Need Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role implementing a cloud data warehouse effort Four-year degree from an accredited college or university or commensurable working experience Data architecture, data modeling, and database design experience across disparate data sources Knowledge of data structures, system interaction patterns and interfaces Experience with Snowflake and star schema concepts Advanced SQL programming experience Experience with Azure tools (Data Factory, SQL database, Data Catalog, Monitor) Azure certification(s) would be preferred Experience with database design tools (MS SQL Maestro, SSMS) Knowledge of Microsoft BI technologies (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and Power BI) Awareness of cloud security best practices Understanding of relational databases Experience with usage of ETLELT and reporting tools used in data warehouse environment Experience in the Investment Management industry would be preferred Knowledge of Investment Operations such as portfolio accounting, corporate actions and trade settlements is a plus Proficient with any of these systems Geneva, APL, Charles River (CRIMS), FactSet, Power BI, Salesforce, IHS Markit and IDC Understanding of master data management concepts Experience documenting functional requirements document and service level agreements (SLAs) Strong analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated What We Have to Offer Health, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance 401(K) matching Paid time off Complimentary parking, fitness center, and access to other building amenities Various Company events throughout the year Continual learning through conference participation, webinars, and internal lunch-and-learns A culture supportive of work-life balance Is Aristotle Right for You?
