Business Intelligence & Institutional Research Analyst -Term.
Under the general direction of the Director of Data Management and Business Intelligence, integrate business intelligence technology with traditional institutional research responsibilities as part of the Institutional Research and Decision Support team; implement and expand the office’s business intelligence initiatives; maintain data dictionary; develop reports, analyses, and dashboards that support decision making and planning.

POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:.
Write queries, develop reports and conduct analyses for the Decision Support Environment, a campus-wide business intelligence system.
Design, implement, and support business intelligence dashboards and data visualizations..
Identify data quality issues and work with appropriate staff to resolve issues and processes as needed.
Develop and implement data validation procedures and data models that will best meet the decision support needs of the campus..
Maintain reports contained in the Decision Support Environment and on the Institutional Research and Decision Support website, and related intranet sites..
Determine testing needed to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions, create test plans, and evaluate testing results taking corrective action as necessary..
Work with the Director of Data Management and Business Intelligence to administer policies, standards and procedures for strategic data planning, data analysis and modeling, and data element standardization and use to ensure accurate, useful and readily accessible data..
Assist with maintaining metadata and data definitions for end-users; assist with maintaining a data report library..
Assist in support and training with end users; provide user assistance and direction for self-service reporting options such as ad-hoc data reporting.
Facilitate data literacy among university stakeholders..
Participate in evaluating and analyzing utilities and tools offered by BI applications/tools vendors..
Represent LMU within the institutional research and higher education data warehouse communities and at professional organizations or associations, serve on committees as required..
Perform other duties as assigned or requested..

Job Qualifications.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:.
Minimum three years’ experience in developing reports, dashboards, data visualizations and scorecards using business intelligence and visualization software.
Experience with Tableau a plus..
Minimum three years’ experience with databases or information systems.
Experience with SQL a plus.
Working knowledge of dimensional modeling a plus..
Experience using statistical software (e.g.
Stata, SAS, R) for data management and cleaning.
Experience with Stata a plus..
Experience working in a university setting preferred.Knowledge and understanding of key concepts in higher education highly desired..
