Position Summary: The Biostatistician II performs under the supervision of a Nursing Professional Development Manager within the Clinical Services Education and Research Department and in collaboration with faculty investigators and CHLA research staff, performs statistical analysis and other tasks relevant to a biostatisticians role in support of qualitative and quantitative scientific research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice evaluation projects.
The Biostatistician II also provides statistics and data management-related education to CHLA staff.
The Biostatistician II has post-graduation work experience as a statistician in an academic research environment, and will be able to work semi-independently.
Minimum Qualifications: 1+ year experience as a statistician in an academic research environment, or equivalent experience.#Experience#in the application of sophisticated statistical analytic methods.# Training in statistical concepts related to experimental and clinical study design, and some experience in their application in a research environment.# High-level familiarity with statistical analysis packages such as Stata and SAS,# and ability to utilize lower-level computational or programming languages such as R, S-Plus, VB,# or C++ as#necessary.
Education/Licensure/Certifications: PhD in statistics or biostatistics preferred, M.S.
in statistics or biostatistics required.
