We are looking for a Senior Web Developer to lead the ongoing development of a retail installation to showcase consumer hardware products for one of the largest tech companies in the world – the system is already installed in hundreds of retail locations across the globe.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as tech lead on a globally distributed team (primarily in the USA, Argentina, and the Netherlands)
  • Will be dedicated to all projects for the Retail team within a larger client account
  • Report directly to the Technical Director
  • Serve as technical point of contact for client and team
  • Collaborate with contributors and stakeholders to define and scope project roadmap
  • Own the overall system architecture, in partnership with client technical lead
  • Actively develop new features for the platform
  • Implement robust development practices to ensure high-quality deliverables (eg: code reviews, continuous integration)
  • Help manage task assignments using project management software (eg: JIRA)
  • Maintain project documentation (including technical design document)
  • Ensure compliance with client-mandated requirements for security, privacy, accessibility, performance, etc

About the App:

  • Vue.js SPA loaded into Android APK running on custom hardware
  • Communicates with multiple hardware components via local server
  • Can operate with or without network connection
  • GSAP for animations

Requirements:

  • Must be based in Los Angeles
  • 5+ years experience or equivalent degree
  • Excellent Javascript, HTML and CSS skills
  • Comfortable working with Figma, Photoshop and Sketch
  • Experience developing complex web apps with Vue.js is required
  • Passion for creating functional UIs with rich interactions, transitions and animations
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (eg: App Engine and Firebase) is preferred
  • Python and/or Node.js is preferred
  • Strong understanding of best practices around security, privacy, accessibility and performance
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly when explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience with custom electronics / hardware is a bonus
  • Localization experience preferred
