Senior Systems Engineer

(RE)DESIGN is looking for Senior Systems Engineers who are eager to advance their engineering talents in the field of IT, supporting Media & Entertainment customers.

This position is a unique opportunity to learn a vast array of hardware and software used in the Media & Entertainment industry.

We are a fully remote workforce, but this position will require regular onsite visits to customers in the LA area.

We provide IT helpdesk and operational support, sales, software development, and security services for dozens of global clients.

Senior Systems Engineer

Position Summary

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving the technology platforms of our clients.

You will utilize your knowledge of computers, networking, storage, software, and security to help our clients improve their workflows and introduce new capabilities.

You will analyze and solve problems, gather information, propose solutions, and implement changes.

You will have the opportunity to learn a wide variety of technologies and skills alongside our engineering staff, and we will provide you with a roadmap and training to help you build your skills towards a senior role.

Required Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience
Thorough understanding of Linux, Windows, and macOS in an enterprise environment
Experience with content security and secure workflows
Intermediate/Advanced Linux / Active Directory sysadmin
Experience with SAN/NAS usage and administration
Solid understanding of enterprise networking
Experience scripting in any language
Proficient with command line on any platform
Strong technical troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative in solving problems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Desired Knowledge and Experience
Work experience in the Media & Entertainment field

Exposure to virtualization, containerization, and cloud-based computing
Knowledge of workflows and toolsets for file-based editorial, transcoding, visual effects, and subtitling
Experience with network design and firewall/switch configuration
Project management experience
Working Environment

This position is fully remote, but will require regular onsite visits to clients in the LA area.

You will need a room to work in at home where you can be uninterrupted during the work day, ideally with a closed door.

A computer will be provided for your use.

Working hours are 9-6 M-F, but occasional off-hours work will be required for planned maintenance or unplanned emergencies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00
– $125,000.00 per year
