As a Senior Software Engineer working on our FOX Bet Free-To-Play products, you will be developing innovative backend solutions for mobile games that are enjoyed by millions of players all over the world. You will be creating state-of-the-art highly scalable and concurrent distributed software systems driving best-of-breed sports products for huge audiences. Your applications will engage millions of users helping them experience the thrill of live sports games.
You will take innovative product ideas and features and design and implement consumer-facing solutions as well as building tools and applications for internal stakeholders to operate those products. You write secure, stable, testable, maintainable code with minimal defects.
You take accountability for the operations of your products and focus on continuously improving scalability and resiliency. You are a passionate advocate for our customers.

- Solve difficult problems, applying appropriate technologies and best practices
- Work with your team to invent, design and build software that is stable and performant at scale
- Proficiently use a broad range of design approaches and know when it is appropriate to apply them and when it is not
- Build pragmatic solutions balancing simplicity and efficacy against performance and scale
- Consider the legacy of the code you produce and write code that an engineer unfamiliar with the system can understand
- Limit the use of short-term workarounds
- Create flexible software without over-engineering
- Make appropriate trade-offs, re-use where possible, and are judicious about introducing dependencies
THE STATS
What we’re looking for in our next teammate
- Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in developing solutions using a broad range of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience and passion for writing distributed, highly scalable and available backend systems & APIs using Java or similar programming languages ideally with experience in actor-based systems such as Akka
- Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure and technologies in AWS such as Lambda, API Gateway, Kinesis and Cognito
- Understating of containers (e.g.
Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience with relational and NoSQL data stores such as MySQL, Cassandra and MongoDB
- A focus on quality and test automation including unit, functional and performance testing and tolls such as Junit/TestNG/JMeter
- Familiarity with web development technologies including HTML, Javascript, AngularJS and React
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
- Demonstrated abilities driving operational excellence and best practices.
