The Oracle MySQL Business Unit is looking for a hardworking, driven Account Executive to sell MySQL across highly diverse and expansive geography within our North America
– Western Region.
Many of the world’s largest and fastest-growing organizations including Facebook, Google, Adobe, Alcatel Lucent and Zappos rely on MySQL to save time and money developing, deploying and managing business-critical MySQL applications to power their high-volume Web sites, business-critical systems and packaged software.
In addition, over 2000 ISVs, OEMs, and VARs rely on MySQL as their products’ embedded database to make their applications, hardware and appliances more competitive and bring them to market faster.
About the Role
Your responsibilities will include capturing new customers, delivering growth from the existing customer base, and building the Oracle MySQL brand.
The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to drive an engagement at the CXO level as well as with software developers, product managers, and IT architects.
You should also be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a territory coverage plan and consistently deliver on quarterly revenue targets.
What You Will Do
Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals and objectives Prospect, qualify, develop and manage a robust pipeline of forecasted opportunities Develop and execute against a comprehensive account/territory plan to meet and exceed quota Collaborate and work with various cross-functional teams (Business Development, Engineering, Channels, Renewals) to successfully manage the entire sales cycle Drive account strategies and coordinate team selling efforts with partners Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts, resulting in growth opportunities Accurately forecast business on a weekly cadence Ensure customer satisfaction
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of direct field experience selling software or IT solutions BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required A track record of success in driving consistent activity, pipeline development and quota achievement.
Skilled in building business champions and running a complex sales process Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship management skills Previous Sales Methodology training (e.g.
Infomentis, MEDDIC, SPIN) Familiarity with databases, DevOps and open source technology a plus
