RTX: Senior Manager Systems Engineering – Prduction Chief Engineer

Raytheon Intelligence & Space is the provider of AESA Radar Systems which provide the war fighter with the most accurate and timely information available for the network-centric battlefield.

The Systems Engineering Center (SEC) organization is seeking committed engineering leaders who are passionate about creating innovative and cost-effective solutions for the warfighter.

The production Chief Engineer is a high-pressure position.

This highly dynamic environment requires both speed and efficiency in addition to maintaining product quality, functionality and traceability.

Applicants are expected to be self-motivated, detail oriented and a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team through strong written and verbal communication skills.

The applicant must have knowledge of troubleshooting and root cause corrective action processes to keep the production line moving.Job Description:The Production Program Chief Engineer will work closely with program management and lead the development and integration efforts and be responsible for the overall technical integrity, leadership and engineering execution across the radar Program.

This leadership position requires a high degree of radar systems technical competency and discipline.

It requires the ability to ensure compliance and process discipline for manufacturing processes.

Duties require the candidate be capable of leading a large-scale production program that includes hardware as well as software process knowledge, performance analysis over environmental stress screening tests, potential retrofit design changes, statistical performance modeling and predictions, parts testing/qualification, parts management, obsolescence management, vendor/supplier management, factory coordination, transition to production, and data analysis to ensure system compliance.

The ideal candidate must be a proven and effective leader driving technical integrity in the team’s products and behaviors and lead identification and resolution of production and technical issues.

The candidate must also be able to plan capital and develop roadmaps to pursue and expand business growth for this radar product line.

The successful candidate must be effective at communicating and building trust with senior Raytheon leadership and customers in order to garner the necessary sponsorship and support.

The Production Program CE reports to the FA18 Global Strike Radar Systems, Production Programs Section Manager and is assigned to the S3 Program Area Chief Engineer.

The Production Chief Engineer role requires daily contact with multiple functions as well as customer quality.

This individual will provide technical leadership, guidance and direct interfacing with customer organizations as well as working groups, contractors, and Raytheon personnel necessary to provide customers with system solutions to meet the customer needs including leadership and participation in customer and/or program technical review presentations and task progress status updates.The activities and requirements in this job include:Provide technical leadership in radar systems development, radar system test, radar system producibility.Work closely with engineering functional and technical management to ensure on time deliveriesExperience with customer specifications for HW and System performanceExperience with production and quality processesExperience originating Systems Test procedures for I& T, V&V; and unit/module procedures for Special Test Equipment (STE) for Transition to ProductionExperience with lab processes, hardware testing, hardware module/unit/system Qualification and TestExperienced at leading hardware, and software integration and system verification efforts necessary for the efficient integration and test, and sell-off of radar systems.Candidate will be a technical point of contact for engineering issues related to Cost and Schedule performance, and Risk avoidance on a development effort.

Candidate working with CE ensures that technical issues are understood, addressed immediately and technical solutions/corrective actions are implemented expeditiously.Performs system testing, test reporting, updating of test procedures and generation of sell-off reports.

Supports technical solution characterization, and reviews/contributes to/approves technical resolutions.

Supports System, Software, Test Equipment requirements generation.

Knowledgeable in systems engineering, systems architecture and IV& V engineering principles.
