Responsibilities Over the past eight months, the Neuromodulation Division has been awarded over $3.5M in NIH and private foundation funding for our research program, as well as the Iris Cantor UCLA Women’s Health Center. We also have additional multiple internally-funded research projects all of which require scientific computing and IT support. Our Programmer Analyst will play a critical role in the advancement of the research goals of the grants/funds we’ve been awarded. In this role, you will develop and write custom tools and programs as requested by the Principal Investigator using MATLAB, BASH, MySQL, or other open-source programming languages. You will use EEGLAB, fieldtrip, FSL, Freesurfer or other neuroimaging tools to perform data preprocessing and analysis at the direction of the research staff, and analyze research data using SPSS, Microsoft Excel, and MATLAB. In addition, you will write applications to create reports and perform statistical calculations. You will also design programs to aid in visual interpretation of data, including custom developed plotting tools in MATLAB/Python/R Develop and maintain databases for research projects and educational programs. This will require supervising the quality of data entry into the database, and designing data entry interfaces accessible from remote locations and partnering research study sites (e.g. Redcap). Qualifications REQUIRED: * Experience developing and writing custom tools and programs using MATLAB, BASH, MYSQL, or other open-source programming languages * Experience designing and writing Object Oriented and modular, reusable, well documented computer programs * Knowledge and experience developing web applications and services using Apache, Linux, and MYSQL * Experience maintaining desktop, laptop, workstation, and server hardware and software on Mac, Linux, and Windows platforms PREFERRED: * Experience in RedHat Linux server setup and management as well as server hardware setup and maintenance UCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
