Working at our Los Angeles location, the Jr.
SQL DBA will be responsible for assisting in all stages of production, database maintenance activities, troubleshooting database-related issues, monitoring of database capacity and performance while reporting to the Senior DBA.
Limited experience with an interest in learning AlwaysOn, Clustering, and configuration of database servers including SAN disk subsystems is a plus.
Candidate will help ensure proper database releases and actualizations, and collaboration with developers and support staff to assure a high-quality product.Duties: * Assist Senior DBA in management of SQL databases in a real time production environment* Help to resolve database integrity, performance, blocking, connectivity, and replication issues* Monitor database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other contention issues* Functioning in the performance tuning of database stored procedures and inline queries* Assist with database backup/recovery and capacity monitoring* Assist with automation tools which regularly rebuild index statistics and fragmentation* Assist with clustering, replication and SQL management* Assist with software deployments/changes in real time environments* Assist with updating databases with the latest service packs, patches and security fixes* Collaborate with application developers and other cross-functional teams Requirements * 1-2 years of experience in SQL database tools, SSMS administration, Stored Procedure development* Experience in AG/Failover technologies useful, but will train* Experience in development and AG Environments useful, but will train* Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) useful, but will train* Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with minor supervision* Willingness to learn/implement operational automation using PowerShell scripts, will train* Good communication and documentation skills* Strong focus on getting the job done Education-levelMinimum of a AA or related field preferred.
