What You’ll get to Do: Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for you to join our team as a DevOps Engineer (Build Manager) / Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer based out of Manhattan Beach, CA.
The candidate will have the opportunity to design, develop, document, test, and debug software written in various computer languages.
Ensure software standards are met.
Build and maintain a release pipeline to enable fast, bug safe delivery of critical business software to Production.
Create and maintain build and install scripts as well as work instructions.
Setup and maintain Development, Test, and Build environments.
Provide supports to team members with issues relate to build and installation.
Must have the ability to work effectively within a team environment, ability to interface with other groups within the project, well developed problem-solving skills, and ability to working within a dynamic environment.
Works under general direction.
Determines and develops technical solutions to complex problems independently.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.
BQs for a Software Engineer 2 are Bachelor’s Degree in STEM discipline with 2 years of related software experience; Master’s Degree in STEM discipline with no experience.
BQs for a Software Engineer 3 are: 5 Years experience with Bachelors in Science in STEM discipline; 3 Years experience with Masters Degree in STEM discipline.
– Current DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain SAP access

Minimum of 2 years of experience as Software Developer or related field
– Software Development Experience:
– Proficiency in one or more of the following: C#, .NET, Java, C/C++
– Familiar with Software Design patterns and Object Oriented Design
– DevOps Experience
– Demonstrated DevOps Principles
– Knowledge and experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) Practices
– Experience using and managing one of thes CI/CD tools: Bamboo, Jenkins
– Experience using and managing these DevOps tools: Ansible, Terraform
– Development experience one or more of the following scripts: Python, PowerShell, Curl
– Experience with Containers in Dockers and/or Kubernetes
Preferred Qualifications:
– Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodology
– Software testing experience
– Experience with AWS and/or Azure DevOps
– Experience specifically with these tools: InstallShield, Kinook Visual Build Pro
– Expert Windows and Linux administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning and proven Automation/Coding experience
– Previous in-depth domain knowledge of program software design and code preferred
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements, streamline activities, and develop efficiencies
– Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and analytic skills
– Works well in a team-environment
– Work effectively within teams where other team members may be located throughout the country
– Current DoD Top Secret Clearance
– Current SCI/SAP access
– Familiarity with XML and XML schemas
– Experience developing User Interfaces using WPF and XAML
