About the RoleSales Engineering is expanding due to strong demands from clients to help drive forward their Digital Transformation initiatives using the power of FactSet’s Open + Flexible Financial Platform. Solutions Architecture is one of 5 core pillars of Sales Engineering which is responsible for leading Client Solutions Design using APIs, Feeds, Analytics Engines + Digital Assets. Through Technical Consultation, Developer Advocacy + Hackathons, Data Architecture, and Process Engineering, Solutions Architects work collaboratively with Asset Managers, Asset Owners, Wealth Managers, Hedge Funds, and Investment Banks to ideate, design and deliver standard and customized workflow solutions. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Solutions Architecture leader who is capable of expanding an existing global team of 28 individuals to execute on an ambitious roadmap to mature the Solutions Architecture practice across our existing 6,000+ global buy-side and sell-side client base.Primary responsibilities include rapid evolution of FactSet’s global Developer Advocacy practice including scalable client engagement models, external technology certification programs, and curated client-facing ideation / webinar / Hackathon / Hack Session engagements. RFP and Questionnaire handling including silos of subject-matter expertise are maintained on this team, including Security, Provisioning, Data Governance, Cloud Deployment, and Networking. Advanced understanding of the workflows of the Client businesses we service enable our Solutions Architect to sit at the intersection of Technology and Capital Markets. Complex processes that span FactSet’s capabilities and our Partner capabilities will be designed alongside the client and stitched together and delivered in structured Diagrams + Artifacts that address our clients’ needs to modernize, move to cloud, automate processes, deliver workflow efficiency, and enable new capabilities. The scope of the Recipe + Reference Designs curated by Solutions Architecture will include Fundamental + Quantitative Research, Portfolio Construction + Optimization, Order + Execution Management, Portfolio Analytics + Risk, Performance + Reporting, Digital Portals, Data Ingestion, and Data Delivery as well as the Research + Deal lifecycle in Investment Banking.With advanced inhouse engineering focused on Cognitive, Analytics, Content Collection + Generation, and Digital capabilities – FactSet is a technology leader in real-time and compute-intensive market data across the front, middle and back-offices. FactSet Solutions Architects help our clients solve their greatest challenges using technology.Our ideal candidate will have previous experience leading a Sales Engineering / Developer Advocacy / Technology Evangelism team at an established technology firm. He or she can balance management responsibilities, team development, and client engagements while also working with Sales, Professional Services, Engineering, and Product to cultivate and drive specific sales opportunities. We are looking for a candidate who is entrepreneurial, who is process driven, who can build relationships with business & technology buyers, and who can talk about enterprise without losing focus on a client’s immediate needs.

Responsibilities

  • Build out FactSet’s Developer Advocacy practice through client out-reach, insights, thought leadership, hackathons and client events
  • Enriching with further Recipes and Reference Designs solutions to inspire, ideate and provoke modern designs – including Case Studies
  • Collaborate with Partnerships + Alliances, Product Business Units and Engineering to bring a FactSet Technology Practitioner Certification to our clients + partners
  • Scope, hire and develop Data Advocates, Data Architects, Process Engineers and Sales Engineers to solution FactSet’s increasingly digital sales pipeline
  • Provide support to FactSet’s Recipes, Reference Design, and Consultative Blueprints (Target Operating Model) initiatives in partnership with other leaders within Sales Engineering, Product Strategy and Executives.
  • Partner with Strategic Sales Engineers as well as FactSet’s team of 1,500 Global Sales and Client Service professionals to build & execute on a pipeline of large revenue, high-impact enterprise deals, with a particular focus on opportunities requiring expertise in application development and complex data architectures
  • Present at client & industry events to position FactSet as a thought & technology leader in our field
  • Build individual, effective relationships with regional sales leadership, engineering leadership, and product leadership to strategize and drive FactSet’s sales pipeline through pre-sales feedback loops and consideration of thematic changes in the use of cloud capabilities, deployed technology stacks, outsourcing, and innovative client operating models
  • Be a domain expert for data architecture / platform integration / orchestration with key cloud partners such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake – as well as specialty financial platforms + services, to deliver turn-key reference designs and patterns for the financial industry
  • Be a collaborative partner on our Open Platform initiatives for Clients: APIs, Marketplace, Self-Service, Data Management + Governance, Front-to-Back Capabilities, etc.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of industry experience in Sales Engineering / Technology Evangelist (or similar) at an established Technology firm
  • 3-5+ years leading an established Sales Engineering / Technology Evangelist / Developer Advocacy (or similar) team
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems (or similar), or extensive hands-on experience as a developer/technologist. Also consideration for degree or experience or certification in Finance or Business if accompanied by significant technology / systems experience.
  • Experience running a global team and delivering new, high-impact practices / programs / initiatives in an agile fashion
  • Experience developing training or certification programs (internal / external)
  • Experience hiring, cultivating talent, and developing a high performing team
  • Experience with at least one major programming language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Ruby, Go, etc.) and a strong preference towards familiarity with HTML5/JavaScript and modern web technologies & frameworks
  • Familiarity with modern application development paradigms and technologies including agile, CI/CD, serverless, cloud-first as well as traditional monolithic development
  • Ability to develop a broad understanding of FactSet’s platform offerings across the full suite of our solutions including applications, content, technology, managed services, workflow solutions and professional services
  • Ability to represent FactSet at the C-Suite and Director level of our clients
  • Ability to clearly communicate with business and technology stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Must be a self-starter with an ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and embody an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities and skills.

  • Previous experience in financial services industry – asset manager/owner, wealth manager, technology or services vendor, asset servicer / custodian, investment bank
  • Certified Solutions Architect from a major cloud provider
