Business Developer

Job Responsibilities: Manage Air Liquide business opportunities for assigned projects regarding industrial gases, utilities, services for grassroots, acquisition opportunities.

Identify and/or generate well-qualified business opportunities.

Analyze project economic feasibility studies.

Develop/present proposed projects to senior management for approval.

Lead project team for accepted projects to a successful conclusion.

Prepare/present well-developed proposals that meet customer expectations and Air Liquide’s business objectives.

Write contracts; lead negotiations with customer through closing in a highly proficient manner.

Demonstrate an advanced understanding of business drivers for Large Industries.

Follow established guidelines outlined by the Business Development group.

Develop extensive working relationships in order to maximize opportunities.

Develop personal relationships with higher-level key customers; develop, promote, maintain close partnerships with customers through prompt, creative solutions.

Share knowledge/experiences with peers; help develop skills/talents of project team members by acting as a coach Support Strategic Account Managers and World Market Groups in their initiatives.

Develop fruitful internal relationships with WMG, operations, ALPC, operations support, finance, HSE and LI business teams, region sales, executive management.

Develop a trust/respect relationship(s) with our management by presenting all issues relating to assigned project along with knowledgeable recommendation.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

(Chemical or mechanical) 7 years of industrial gas experience.

2 years industrial gas commercial experience.

Advanced knowledge of customer processes, application of Air Liquide’s products/services to these processes Knowledge of Air Liquide’s available technologies (air separation, Syngas, utilities, H2, CO, power), cost advantages/disadvantages of these technologies.

Strong ability to conceptualize ideas to management, recognize/develop product/service opportunities.

Extensive, broad, industry experience in Large Industry industrial gas/utility offering.

In depth knowledge of customers, current target markets.

Free-thinking, innovative, adaptable attitude toward customer solutions.

Ability to function in a highly decentralized team environment with minimal internal structure, extensive flexibility.

Ability to formalize business relationships/projects through written contract; strong negotiation/sales skills.

Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

Ability to lead project development teams consisting of personnel from many groups (WMG, HSE, ALPC, Operations Support, Finance, LI Business Teams, Operations) to successful conclusion.

Strong skills related to recommending networking customers requirements, recognizing specific project improvement opportunities.

Theoretical/practical business and financial knowledge generally associated with an MBA or comparable experience.

Strong analytical skills; ability to perform and/or evaluate complex project economics.

Preferred Qualifications: Master of Business Administration.

8 years of commercial experience.

8 years experience in sales/marketing in a competitive manufacturing environment.

Candidate must have valid employment authorization in the U.S.

and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
