Find your future with us.The Boeing AvionX Computing Platform Software (CPS) team is seeking multiple Senior Real Time Embedded Software Engineers to join us at one of our locations including: Hazelwood, Missouri, Plano, Texas, Mesa, Arizona and Long Beach, California to develop real-time, embedded flight software on safety critical and mission critical avionics systems constrained by size, weight, and power (SWaP) and cyber assured environments.
These systems must meet the highest levels of safety standards, levels of rigor and design assurances required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Defense (DOD) and National Security Agency (NSA) certification authorities as they are deployed on latest Commercial aircraft, Defense platforms and weapons systems, including un-piloted and autonomous vehicles of the future.
The ideal candidate for this role is experienced at developing flight software and lower level infrastructure for avionics, utilizing rigorous design practices, efficient and automated processes and tools, to delivery on-time, high quality, safety assured and cyber assured software.
Position Responsibilities:Develops, documents and maintains reusable architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for computing platform software on real-time embedded systems, including hardware and operating system software abstraction and isolation layers, middleware data distribution services (DDS), security authentication protocols and application framework services.Serves as a subject matter expert for the computing platform software domain, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.Creates and organizes a well-defined, estimated and prioritized set of initiatives, epics and stories to maintain a robust backlog for time-phasing and planning.Participates in daily scrums, using agile practices, to communicate clearly and openly on incremental progress and to inform the team of any help needed on impediments and roadblocks and suggest timely remedies for common ailments during retrospections.
This position allows telecommuting.
The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.
Security Clearance for which the U.S.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry5+ years of experience programming in C, C++ or Ada Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):1+ years of experience developing software for embedded systems, using one or more of the following real time operating systems (RTOS): Wind River Systems VxWorks, DDC-I Deos or Green Hills Software Integrity1+ years of experience developing software in a multi-threaded execution, multi-core processor computing environment, where the use of semaphore variables are used to control access to common resources1+ years of experience developing middleware per applications programming interfaces (APIs) to open standards such as FACE (future airborne capability environment) and OMS (open mission systems)1+ years of experience developing secure software for C and C++ per OWASP secure coding practices1+ years of experience developing safety critical software per FAA DO-178C or MIL-STD-882E standards1+ years of experience developing cyber assured software per NSA National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) risk management (RMF) and cybersecurity frameworks (CSF)1+ years of experience developing software using lean methodologies, focusing on low work-in-progress (WIP) and critical handoffs to delivery on-time, high quality software1+ years of experience developing software using the Atlassian agile lifecycle management (ALM) tools suite, including Jira and Confluence1+ years of experience developing software using Git for repository revision control and configuration management (CM) Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.
Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.
PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
