Job Title: AV Software Engineer Job Code: SME4 Department: Engineering Labor Category: Subject Matter Expert IV Revision Date: 03/02/2020 FLSA: Full Time (FTE) Position Overview The AV Software Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of AV software.
Working with the AV Architect, the AV Software Engineer will perform the following: requirements analysis, preliminary and final design, testing, installation and support.
The AV Software Engineer will provide support to Lead Technicians during the installation cycle of a system at a client site.
Normally, the support will be provided remote from 3TI facilities, although there may be circumstances which require the AV Software Engineer to be on-site.
Additionally, the Software Engineer will lead the configuration management, version control, and archiving of application software developed by 3TI.
The AV Software Engineer may be required to assist in the development of statements of work, proposed system engineering drawings and AV schematics, and provide leadership to the 3TI team to execute AV software best practices, industry standards and trends.
Requirements
• Demonstrated understanding of the following technologies/products: o Control Systems (Crestron and/or AMX) o Audio DSP (Biamp, ClearOne, Symetrix) o Video Conferencing (Cisco, Polycom, Lync)
• Simpl Windows
• NetLinx Studio
• Object Oriented Software Development
• Structured Software Development
• Author engineering documentation such as Software Requirements Specification, Test Plans, Test Procedures, Data Dictionary, bills of materials, infrastructure drawings and connection diagrams.
• Provide advice, guidance and subject matter expertise to ensure that schedule, performance, and budget targets are met.
• Performs root cause analysis when conference room A/V and VTC issues arise Experience Required : The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience developing software in the AV industry, with proven experience working as a member of an AV team of engineers and technicians.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate a progressive track of increased responsibility in AV software development.
Additional experience as an installer, programmer, or project manager is a plus.
Experience developing general software applications within the .NET Framework will be taken into consideration.
Certifications Expected While In Role: While the employee is in this role, it is expected that he/she would already have or acquire the following: Crestron DMC-E, CTS-D, with one or more additional AV manufacturer certifications such as Biamp, ClearOne, Polycom, SMART, etc.
Travel: Travel is not expected to exceed twenty percent per annum.
