Senior Payroll Manager

LinQuest is seeking a Senior Payroll Manager to join our team at our office in either Los Angeles or Colorado Springs.

The Senior Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the entire Company’s payroll functions, ensuring that all payrolls are processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. The Senior Payroll Manager will assure proper tax treatment, accounting, and disposition of withholdings. The Senior Payroll Manager will supervise the various Payroll Departments and work alongside the Human Resources Department and Accounting Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise multiple payroll staffs, including payroll managers, supervisors and payroll specialists.
    Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.
  • Prepare relevant reports for management on a monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Oversees timely and proper filings of payroll tax returns.
  • Ensures timely and accurate resolution of payroll issues.
  • Leads time collections and labor distribution requirements of the company
  • Works directly with Company senior leaders.
  • Supports annual 401k audits

Required knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Extensive knowledge of all payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate well and work effectively with various departments to achieve desired results.
  • Demonstrated ability to shift priorities and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in software systems and interfaces impacting payroll. Preferably Unanet, UKG, and Costpoint.
  • Managerial and/or supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Government Accounting System requirements and regulations; to include timekeeping, allowable and unallowable costs, billable and unbillable costs, and military leave requirements.

Years of Experience:

  • 16+ years of related experience in payroll, accounting and supervision;

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred,

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to work with and understand complex financial information and data
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and directions
  • Must be able to prioritize departmental functions to meet due dates and deadlines
