The Senior Manager Human Resources will provide strategic direction and leadership of the HR function for the organization including the California and Massachusetts locations in order to increase organizational success.
Position is responsible for all HR related issues, policy and procedure development, training, retention, recruitment, local, state and federal labor law and regulations compliance.
This position will develop HR related programs and strategies that align with overall business objectives.
Responsibilities include supporting employee development, enhancing employee engagement, designing onboarding and exit programs, mitigating risk, structuring benefit packages, designing accountability mechanisms and overseeing overall employment needs.
The Senior Manager Human Resources will act as an employee advocate and work towards building a company culture of trust, commitment, innovation and collaboration.Responsibilities:HR strategy and function leader for US site locations.Plan, administer & innovate human resources programs and policies to support company goals and positively engage the work community.
Develop departmental goals, objectives & processes.Advise management on all human resources issues with broad and current subject matter knowledge that includes expertise in federal, state and local employment and labor laws.Maintain and develop Human Capital Management System (HCMS) and any other HR related systems for all required processes and transactions.Maintain knowledge on industry trends and employment legislation and ensures the organization’s compliance.
Policy and employee handbook development and communication including implications and impact of new employment and labor law on company operations.
Conduct HR audit of personnel files.
HR & HIPPA Compliance Officer.
Partners with legal counsel and company leadership to prevent employment related legal claims and to respond to them when they occur by conducting the appropriate internal investigation including responding to federal and state agencies.Management of various leaves and creation of HR programs.
Communicate and assist with execution of HR programs at various other site locations.Comprehensive benefits strategy and oversight including benchmarking within the industry while balancing employee preferences and benefits cost management control.Employee relations and coaching including performance, leadership, career development and change management.
Maintains positive relationship with work community.
Promotes high employee morale, motivation and overall culture of trust and engagement while focusing on retention of human capital.
Oversight of exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.Education & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Business related degree.
Graduate degree in HR preferred.HR senior/strategic level certification such as the SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.8-10 years of broad HR experience to include talent management, retention program development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, performance management, risk mitigation and compliance management.CA employment and labor law and regulation experience required.Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.Experience in a high growth and agile organization is required.Life Sciences HR experience is preferred.Highly organized and detail oriented.Strong people and problem-solving skills.Approachable and trustworthy.BenefitsAbsorption Systems cares about our work community and offers a variety of benefits allowing employees the opportunity to customize a comprehensive benefits package that meets their personal needs.
