The exceptional EY experience. It’s yours to build.

The opportunity: your next adventure awaits

The People Advisory Services (PAS) Staff Experiences Program offers candidates like you an opportunity for a completely tailored, independently-driven, and leadership-sponsored career path. As HR and business have evolved, so have our offerings. You will work on projects in a wide range of industries and sectors and provide clients with market leading expertise. The PAS Workforce Advisory practice collaborates with clients to address complex people-related issues and provides support through our core competencies – organizational change management; organizational design and workforce planning; HR transformation; payroll advisory; learning services; workforce management and time and attendance; purpose, culture and leadership; workforce analytics; and transactions. Whether you work in many of these areas or choose to gain expertise in one – your role at EY will be as unique as you are.

In Workforce Advisory, you will master the fundamentals of professional services from a people perspective. You will develop skills by capturing change impacts, developing training, supporting organizational design and transformation, and gauging business readiness. We enable client success by effectively preparing clients for change and driving strategy.

In your first few years you’ll assess complex client challenges, benchmark against competitors, advise on leading practices, and guide clients through implementations, transactions, and transformations. Even in your first year, you will help engagement leaders gather and analyze meaningful data, identify risks, enable successful project management, and learn how businesses operate. At EY we trust our employees to deliver exceptional work – allowing entry-level employees to prove they can perform well beyond their years.

We help clients understand, secure, and improve their people agenda. As part of our team you’ll support organizations’ adaptation to key market trends like the growing emphasis on the employee experience, digital technology enablement, innovation, and the globalizing workforce. From day one you’ll work with clients across the spectrum in industry, size, culture, and region. Likewise, you will partner with analysts, partners, interns and client executives to help build a better working world. Access to extensive resources and tools which will add momentum to your career at a highly accelerated pace.

Expect the unexpected! One of the most important qualifications for this role is to be able to adapt quickly to a fast-paced and highly unpredictable environment. While our recent client engagements have commenced in a virtual environment, you’ll typically be expected to travel to the client site 80% of the time. You will need to have the confidence to work collaboratively to produce a deliverable that benefits both the client and the team, even under constantly changing conditions. The ability to excel with ambiguous roles and duties is also critical for success. With all of this being said, you can expect to work with team members who have invaluable information to teach and who can learn from you as well.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Knowing your stuff – EY methodologies, industry best-practices and news, and client-specific info. It is critical that everyone on our team has the knowledge he or she needs to help our clients. Don’t worry – you’ll be building on your current education and expertise with EY training, resources, and cutting-edge thought leadership
  • Advising clients – the backbone of what we do, working well with and strategically influencing clients is crucial for success. You’ll need to have exceptional people skills and the ability to present yourself and your ideas confidently in a variety of settings
  • Solving real problems – although problem solving on college exams may be over, our clients still face challenges that need to be solved. Critical thinking, situational reasoning, and practical solutioning is required, often under tight deadlines. A cool head combined with strong analytical skills is a must-have
  • Working with technology – every project involves some level of tech know-how. Comfort around technology and a willingness to build these skills helps us to remain at the forefront of innovation
  • Supporting EY growth – while the majority of our time is spent with external clients, you’ll also work on internal initiatives such as business development and NextWave, our ambition to create long-term value for our clients, our people and society

What we look for

  • You have an agile, growth-oriented mindset. What you know matters. But the right mindset is just as important in determining success. We’re looking for people who are innovative, can work in an agile way and keep pace with a rapidly changing world.
  • You are curious and purpose driven. We’re looking for people who see opportunities instead of challenges, who ask better questions to seek better answers that build a better working world.
  • You are inclusive. We’re looking for people who seek out and embrace diverse perspectives, who value differences, and team inclusively to build safety and trust.
  • Qualifications.
    • A strong academic record and progress towards an undergraduate or graduate degree that EY deems relevant to this position (this can range from human resources to information systems to business)
    • Desire to learn quickly about a new topic – chances are you’ll be unfamiliar with the industry, client, or technology you’ll be working with, so curiosity and openness to new ideas are important
    • A willingness to travel – up to 80% as well as work in excess of standard hours when necessary
    • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills – asking the right questions at the right time is key for unearthing our clients’ most immediate needs
    • Effective project management skills – managing a project plan, raising risks, and adhering to a deadline are all tasks that will be encountered on the job
    • Excellent teaming skills – adaptability toward new perspectives, working styles, personalities, and cultures. We don’t just discuss our values and team-focused culture, we live them every day
    • A driver’s license valid in the U.S.

What’s in it for you

What you can expect

  • Our approach to hiring utilizes several different formats throughout the course of the recruiting process.
  • In addition to speaking with our recruiters and client-serving professionals, we also leverage game-based assessments to assess your non-technical skills and attributes in a quick and engaging experience. This includes your collaboration style and your abilities to work with information and the use of pre-recorded video interviews (PRVI). PRVI technology provides a great opportunity for you to share more about your qualifications and interests, as well as to ask more specifics about EY and the role for which you are interviewing.
