Learn more at careers.alight.com .Job DescriptionThe Payroll Associate will process, analyze, research, validate and correct payroll issues for the client’s employees on the daily basis.

The Payroll Associate is responsible for processing and submitting payrolls according to the client’s service level agreements.

Assist in correction and resolution of all data generated fatal errors that would prevent client’s employees from receiving proper payments.

Monitor and escalate all systems related errors that would jeopardize delivery of accurate payroll data from PeopleSoft.Essential Functions: Responsible for processing payrolls according to pre-approved dates and/or immediate requests from client.

Responsible for overall collection of payroll closed time / overpayments /reversal working with T, HRADMIN, Benefits for assigned agency.

Process on cycle and off-cycle payroll requests.

Effective time and organizational skills; Well developed in troubleshooting and problem solving Self starter; able to identify work that needs to be done and do it without being instructed Ability to work within a team where members depend on each other to get a job done, respecting and valuing the diversity of varying inputs and contributions of each team member Process more complex payroll changes, including bonuses, STD, return to work, LOA, military leave, severance, and employee death.

Serve as back-up for other team members as required.

Conduct audits of peers payrolls May need to work non-standard hours depending on payroll cycles assigned and payroll processing schedule Interacts with customers by answering questions and requests.

Prepare and utilize query-based system (i.e.

SAP, PeopleSoft) reports to monitor data for all client employees.

Analyze and trend data to identify payroll-impacting errors.

Identify the severity of issues and escalate jeopardy items to appropriate personnel.

Work under strict deadlines to meet contract deliverables.

Maintains and executes payroll files according to company and/or client policy.

Daily, monthly, and quarterly tax maintenance for the client.

Responsible for providing documentation of procedures.

Other duties, as assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or manager.Supervisory Responsibility: No, this position does not have supervisory responsibilities.Work Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, converse with, exchange and assess information.

The employee is frequently in the stationary position but may occasionally move from this position.

In addition, the employee will constantly operating office equipment, including telephone and computer with multiple screens,This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds and will be in an office environment.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position.

Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

This position may regularly require long hours and weekend work.Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED Must have proficiency with various software applications including Microsoft Word, and Excel.

One Note skills are highly desirable.

Must have strong understanding of the acceptable and professional business rules and business/payroll logic to identify issues and to correct payroll data.

Must be capable of understanding system transactions impacting Payroll and Benefits.

Ability to process a high volume of detailed work in a short timeframe.Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field from a four-year college or university Extensive knowledge of system (i.e.

SAP, PeopleSoft) functionality and specific client’s programming logic and business rules Critical thinking skills Detailed knowledge of system functionality regarding HR, Staffing, Benefits, Retirement, and Payroll actions and processes.

Strong business analytical skills to statistically graph and trend changes in payroll.

1-3 years applicable system (i.e.

SAP, PeopleSoft) experience desirable Ability to communicate effectively with high-level client contacts.
