Human Resources Manager JS

We are hiring for a Human Resources Manager in Van Nuys. Direct Hire position at $75,000 to start. 

Responsibilities: 
 

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the administrative functions of our company, related to Human Resources.
  • Assess, plan and coordinate our workforce to best use employees’ talents.  Help attract new hires, motivate current employees, and help match employees to the jobs they are well suited for.  Recommend changes that may benefit our company’s efficiency and/or bottom line.
  • Link our Management Team with our employees and build bridges of communication.
  • Plan and oversee our company’s compensation, benefit and training programs.
  • Be a consultant with other Managers, advising them on HR practices/concerns (hiring practices, equal employment opportunities, harassment, etc.).
  • Oversee our recruitment, interviewing and new hire selection process.  This includes interviews, background checks, drug testing, DMV records, etc.  Upper Management (Jim and/or John) may want to attend interviews, but should be included, at least, in the final interview before hire.
  • Oversee the hiring/moving/termination of current employees including being the lead person for pre-employment and exit interview processes. 
  • Oversee new hire orientation & training.  Responsible for on-boarding new employees and ensure 90 day reviews occur.
  • Provide employee counseling, as needed.  Handle complaints from/between Employees and Management.
  • Review/Assist with payroll processes to help ensure Managers are keeping their Dept’s payroll/incentive programs, etc. up to date and to help ensure employees are accurately paid.
  • Handle staffing concerns, mediating disputes and directing disciplinary procedures.
  • Consult with Upper Management regarding our organization’s strategic planning and Employee/Manager concerns that arise.
  • Keep abreast of all applicable human resource laws and regulations and communicate to management in a timely manner.
  • Ensure HR practices are in full compliance with all prevailing Federal, State and Local laws and regulations. 
  • Drive & oversee Insurance Renewal Process (health, liability & other policies).  Oversee all open enrollment processes.
  • Set up and oversee an Annual Employee Review Program that is consistent with all Managers throughout the Company. 
  • Manage workers compensation including employee interviews & reporting to information to the proper insurance company(ies)/AVWS Management/Upper Management.
  • Member of the Safety committee
  • Maintain/update personnel files and company org chart
  • Oversee required annual reporting are completed accurately and on-time.
  • Oversee employment handbook annual review and revisions.
