Job Summary: American Heritage Schools is seeking a Human Resources Manager.
This position provides senior-level direction in all areas of Human Resources, including employee relations, recruitment, retention, salary and benefits administration, counseling and discipline, workers compensation, and the provision of coaching and consultation to all levels of management regarding employee issues.
This position supervises a small Human Resources team and will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations mission and talent strategy.
Duties/Responsibilities: Collaborates with senior leadership and ownership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
Responsible for employee marketing and branding based on the companys strategic initiatives.
Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs.
Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Works with senior leadership to identify staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
Leads the recruitment and hiring of a workforce at all levels.
Oversees on-boarding for new staff and faculty ensuring that all employees understand benefits and employees requirements Respond as needed to employee relations issues, coach, mentor, resolve conflicts.
Investigates, grievances and/or complaints from employees (e.g.
sexual harassment, pay and/or assignment disputes, etc.) in conjunction with leadership for the purpose of reaching resolutions that provide a healthy work environment.
Manages employee health accommodation requests and FMLA Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
Develops and implements departmental budget.
Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for all non-instructional staff.
Oversees the performance management program for non-instructional staff Coordinates and works directly with Insurance adjuster on workers comp claims.
Ensures an I 9 audit is performed annually Responsible for the oversight of termination processes and unemployment claims Responsible for a yearly review of benefits to stay competitive Responsible for a successful Open Enrollment campaign and outcomes.

Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
At least five years of human resource management experience is required.
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP are highly preferred.
