POSITION OVERVIEW Our In Room Dining Manager is the architect of our hotel Entrusted with providing strategic leadership and direction to ensure the Food and Beverage operation our In Room Dining, Mini Bar and Pool achieves its goals and contributes to the guest experience and overall profitability of the hotel whilst maintaining Dorchester Collection Brand standards. They coordinate all Food and Beverage Operations and Programs and they ensure adherence to DC Core Standards and required Health and Food Safety standards. Our In Room Dining Managers are also responsible for the planning, organization, direction of the operations and supervision of the team. They enable the F&B GRC structure, creativity, bespoke recognition and utilization of NEXUS. They continually evaluate organizational structure to ensure team is deployed based on strengths. Though skillfully trained, they never lose sight of their ultimate reasonability, to create lifelong memories for our guests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS A day in the life of our In Room Dining Manager, it demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all of the tasks that our In Room Dining Manager accomplish would be lengthy but the list below is essential to know. Our In Room Dining Manager is responsible for overseeing our In Room Dining Team during their day. They also manage the team members at the Pool and Mini Bar and ensure all standards are upheld, staffing is in place, and necessary tools are provided for in these areas. They are responsible for the direction, coordination and evaluation of these team members within the department during service, while coordinating with our Assistant In Room Dining Manager. In your role you will inspire, be part of our team selection process, train and development of employees and performance management of the team. Furthermore, our In Room Dining Manager prepares work schedules, assists in by-weekly payroll, leads daily shift meetings, and reports daily shift operations with any necessary follow up. Monitoring and supervising the set up and maintenance of our In Room Dining department and stations to ensure it is exceeding expectations. Our In Room Dining Managers ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis. In addition, our In Room Dining Manager ensures par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering, completing requisitions, and controlling distribution of supplies. Sometimes our guests have special requests involving dietary restrictions, specialized food and beverage orders, and even special occasions. This will include organizing all amenities, assigning shift teams, side work, and stations all to ensure our guests receives nothing but the best experience. Most of these requests are overseen by our In Room Dining Manager. Our hotels are truly luxury hotels. This requires preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up. Our In Room Dining Manager are relied upon to report these and work with several other positions to correct. Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. Our In Room Dining Manager must communicate with other departments and extended hotel team in order to ensure the alignment remains. They work hands-on with the culinary, pastry, and front office teams while communicating requests and concerns to drive problem solving and resolution. Our In Room Dining Manager will also follow through on all guest comments, complaints and other forms of communication. They will develop and implement viable marketing strategies and programs for increased sales of F&B, in partnership with Sales and Marketing. The items shared are essential. However, to ensure consistency, our In Room Dining Manager are provided with specifics on how we care for their department and our hotel. QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRABLES Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.
