UCLA Health: Per Diem Lvn – Radiation Oncology, Westwood

Responsibilities In this position, you will be responsible for the administrative and clinical care within the scope of practice of all the Radiation Oncology patients.

You will assist the registered nurse and nurse manager with the clinic operations, including patient flow, supplies and equipment, and the environment of care working as a team with clinic management, administration, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, radiation therapists, physicists, and other department staff to ensure patient care and safety.Responsible for providing clinical services related to radiation therapy, brachytherapy, and independent prioritization of patient care activities for the Westwood, Santa Monica clinics, and other future sites as assigned.

Days and hours may vary depending on assignments.Qualifications Required:Possess LVN license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse ExaminersPossession of EKG, Phlebotomy and IV certificationPossession of CPR certification/BCLS by the American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationCompetency in IV skillsAbility to perform CPRKeyboard literacy skills to access and input data in computerized logging systemsAbility to take vital signs, administer medications, perform POCT testing and obtain Medication refills as neededAbility to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physicianKnowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problemsInterpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providersUCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
