Responsibilities:

Position Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) has initiative, responsibility, and action in assigned responsibility; understanding of physical, mental, psychological, and social needs of patients; The SLP has an understanding of communication skills, evaluation, and treatment and a desire to work in collaboration with associates to provide quality interdisciplinary patient programming.

Using independent judgement, the Speech Pathologist assumes the responsibility of providing a comprehensive evaluation of communication skills and/or swallowing function, and provides goal-oriented treatment to facilitate maximum communication and/or swallowing potential.

Specific Duties
* Evaluates all assigned patients and establish appropriate treatment goals and programs.
* Coordinates treatment program in conjunction with other clinical/therapeutic services.
* Implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction.
* Develops comprehensive goals for patient treatment to maximize patient outcomes and return to community activities.
* Serves as an educator of patients, their families and colleagues.
* Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
* Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
* Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association or eligibility for Certification pending professional experience required.
* Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.
