Respiratory Care Practitioner II NICU, PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Angeles, Full – Time

PIH Health is a nonprofit, regional healthcare network that serves approximately 3 million residents in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Gabriel Valley region. The fully integrated network is comprised of PIH Health Hospital – Whittier, PIH Health Hospital – Downey and PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, 27 outpatient medical locations, a multi-specialty medical (physician) group, home healthcare services, and hospice care, as well as heart, cancer, women’s health, urgent care, and emergency services.

Responsible for independently utilizing respiratory care therapy to safely, therapeutically, and efficiently care for a group of patients based on policies and procedures. Delivers individualized quality respiratory care services through a coordinated team approach with physicians, staff and other departments. Responsible for responding to all code blue/emergency situations in the hospital and acts as Lead Respiratory Care Practitioner in the absence of the Lead. Complies with the State of California standards for Respiratory Care Practitioners.

Required Skills

  • Current California RCP license
  • 2-4 Years in NICU Respiratory Care
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC
  • Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association, ACLS, and PALS
  •  Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) sponsored by the American Heart Association
  • LA City fire card within 6 months of employment
