Position Summary: The Research Nurse Scientist, plans, implements, and evaluates inter-professional research and evidence-based practice (EPB) activities, to promote the delivery of quality patient care and improved patient outcomes.

The role facilitates inter-professional strategic research priorities.

Will seek out, develop and collaborate with internal and external support and funding resources to create and maintain progressive research and outcome based programs.

Will support and be a resource for the overall research and publication activities for Clinical Services and will conduct his/her own independent research.

The Research Nurse Scientist will manage systems related to clinical outcomes, research and evidence-based practice, performance improvement, Magnet, and quality/safety initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of clinical experience in a leadership role required; pediatric preferred.

3+ years experience facilitating research activities required.

Knowledge of regulatory processes preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certifications: Doctorate in nursing required: PhD in Nursing strongly preferred; Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of California Nursing or Research Certification and AHA CPR/BLS training.
