Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall operations of the Endoscopy area/GI lab and for the organization, direction, coordination and evaluation of the nursing/other staff members involved in the daily operations in both facilities.
Overall supervision of the staff and scheduling of patient procedures while adhering to all policies and procedures associated with the Endoscopy area/GI Lab Procedure Unit.
Supports centers objectives and goals relative to patient care/procedures and assists with the personal development of the staff members in order to achieve those goals on an ongoing basis.
Performs clinical nursing duties when necessary that include but not limited to, assisting physicians in performing procedures in endoscopy area, GI lab, administering medications and, monitoring vital signs and medications, and provide health education, procedure instruction/information to patients and families while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
Current CA RN License, required
BSN or MSN, required
Current BLS and ACLS card from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Previous supervisory experience, highly desired
Experienced in directing, teaching and supervising nursing/medical personnel.
Ability to travel between various procedure units when necessary.
Ability to assist physicians in performing procedures in the endoscopy area/GI Lab Unit practicing medical and surgical asepsis at all times.
Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of care specific to endoscopy area/GI Laboratory, , including conscious sedation.
