Job Description

Clinical Laboratory Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform laboratory assays in accordance with DPT Eurofins standard operation procedures
  • Operate, calibrate and maintain all laboratory equipment and instruments according to standard operating procedures to ensure quality results
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies, reagents, and materials
  • Accept or reject  test results in accordance  with standard operating procedures
  • Document remedial  action, troubleshooting, quality assurance activities and instrument maintenance
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards
  • Adhere to established processing timelines
  • Responsible for screening of organ and tissue  donors
  • Perform blood banking ( A, B, O and Rh blood typing), chemistry, and molecular testing
  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient results
  • Accurately enters results of testing. Review reports to monitor accurate reporting of results
  • Document all corrective actions are taken when test systems deviate from  the laboratory’s established performance specification
  • Promptly and courteously answers the phone and assists clients with their inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned by management

  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity and honesty in performing tests, documenting test results and maintaining patient, client, employee and laboratory business confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
  • Good pipetting skills and understanding of aseptic techniques
  • Ability to work with automated and manual platforms
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Keenly attentive to detail
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
  • Analytical judgment, problem solving skills, accuracy and detail oriented
  • Represent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established Company standards and associate attributes at all times

Qualifications

  • BS or BA in biological, clinical laboratory science, or related life science
  • Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License
  • Working knowledge of handling potentially infectious human blood and body fluids
  • Previous clinical laboratory experience is desirable, but not required

Bonus details: First half is paid out after reaching independent competency (around 90 days). Second half is paid out after being employed for one year
