Medical Assistant – Radiology Therapy – 8 Hour Days

You will support the physicians and nursing staff in the delivery of health care by performing a variety of medically related tasks.

The Radiation Oncology department uses an interdisciplinary approach in the management of patient care. Patient assessment and plan of care involve input from a team of physicians, nurses, physicists, Dosimetrist, radiation therapists, nutrition and social work. This team facilitates continuum of care by providing the coordination and transfer of patients to inpatient, home care and SOCC. The team closely collaborates with the referring physicians as well as the CSMC inpatient nursing, nutrition and social work staff.

The department confines its operations to the radiation treatment of patients with cancer. However, there is a growing number of patients now being seen and treated for non-malignant conditions such as keloids, AVM’s, certain benign brain tumors and heterotopic bone formation.

Functioning under the general supervision of the Service Line Manager and a licensed caregiver, the Clinical Care Associate (CCA) provides clinical and administrative support to nurses, physicians and allied health providers (Clinicians) working in the hospital licensed clinics.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You will Conduct patient interview, data collection, documentation in the medical record
  • exam room set-up, cleaning and preparing for patients
  • ordering/stocking of medical supplies
  • administrative support, to handle high volume of patient coordination and sophisticated scheduling in the licensed clinics.
  • Cross trained to cover multiple providers and as a resource

The CCA may also perform non-invasive routine technical services under the supervision of a licensed physician, surgeon or podiatrist who is on the premises. The Clinical Care Associate functions within their scope of education/certification not to exceed what is permitted by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center policies, procedures and guidelines.

Educational Requirements:

Vocational/Technical Diploma. Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program

Licenses:

Basic Life Support (BLS)
Phlebotomy Certification CA (CPT1) (1 year upon hire)
Certified Registered Medical Assistant (preferred)

Experience:

1 year of Medical Assistant, medical office, ambulatory care facility or medical
group practice

Physical Demands:
