Senior Social Media Manager, AI for Innovation Audiences, Image & Culture

We are seeking a Senior Social Media Manager, AI for Innovation Audiences, Image & Culture as the next member of the Microsoft brand social media team! This team runs @Microsoft on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn and love finding new ways to bridgesocial media and Microsoft’s mission, to help every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.

As a part of our team, you would be accountable for curating content showcasing Microsoft’s innovations and global tech advances spanning AI, sustainability, and digital transformation. Success will be defined through experimentation and learning. Ultimately, we build online communities that will drive brand love and entice new and existing audiences to engage with content across the Microsoft brand social channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Use organic, paid, and reactive social media to develop business content to position Microsoft as an innovative thought leader.
  • Translate business goals into a communications strategy and social media objectives.
  • Develop and/or review organic social media posts, day-to-day, including managing creative briefs, developing processes, meeting (sometimes tight) timelines, and measuring success.
  • Use research and/or data to define an audience.
  • Plan and manage a paid social media campaign, including stating communication objectives, audience targeting, flight dates, and success metrics.
  • Nurture a social media community to become increasingly more engaged with our content
  • Help develop the business voice and tone of Microsoft on social media.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly reporting that tracks business content performance, uncover insights that will improve performance, and track success of application of insights.

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years’ professional social media experience working with tools like, but not limited to the following: Sprinklr, Sprout, Opal, and/or Crimson Hexagon.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years specialized functional (e.g., retail, technology) experience.
  • 4+ years experience supporting senior executives in an executive communications role.
  • 3+ years experience working with social media platforms.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience that helped hone your creative writing skills.
  • Understanding of evolving social media trends.
  • Able to trend, mine, and identify emerging social platforms
  • Have deep platform expertise on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and/or Twitter.
  • 7 years’ experience at a social media agency or a member of a social media team at a medium- to large-sized company.
  • Social media community management experience.
  • Exceptional formal and colloquial communications skills.
  • Have partnered with designers and creative agencies to develop visual assets for social media.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across organizational and team boundaries.
  • Ability to manage complex projects in a fast-changing environment.
  • Proven track record for new, innovative approaches and smart risk taking.

Communications IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 – $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 – $213,200 per year.
