Family Therapist

Family Therapist Overall Purpose: Provide education, support, therapy and counseling to the families in ACW’s Treatment Programs to increase the long term sobriety of ACW’s clients by improving their family support system and potentially help family members who may also be struggling with sobriety to stay clean and sober. Duties and Responsibilities: 1). Provide an evidenced based substance abuse multifamily 1.5 hour educational family group regarding the roles families play to support or prevent their family member while in treatment and afterwards as well as exploring how individual family members feel and can improve their coping skills. 2). Provide an evidenced based multifamily therapy group. 3. Provide short term individual family therapy sessions (one time per week for 5-7 weeks) 4. Document all groups and individual sessions. 5. Complete forms and report trends to the Executive Director. Relationships/Contacts: Reports to Executive Director. Maintains linkages with outside mental health agencies, health clinics, women centers and ACW staff. Additional Dimensions Thorough understanding of women substance abusers including understanding trauma/domestic violence and eating disorders. Ability to work with diverse populations and individuals including those with HIV/AIDS, homeless women, lesbian bisexual women and incest survivors. Ability to work with SAMHSA curriculum and enter progress notes into a computerized program. Qualification Requirements: LCSW or licensed MFCC with at least 10 years providing counseling services to families with a history of substance abuse addiction. Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking up/down stairs, light lifting. Work Environment: Moderate noise level. Hours and Days for this position is Part-time at 3 days a week Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $40.00 per hour
