APCH provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes, fitness and health and wellness opportunities.
As youth participate in our programs, they discover interests and talents and develop a better sense of themselves and their place in the world around them.

The Therapist will collaborate with Case Managers and Member and Parent Services Coordinator to provide holistic or therapeutic support services to members.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConducts mental health assessments and coordinate services for APCH members in the Counseling programProvide therapeutic services to APCH members and family thru individual, family and group therapyAssess and recognizes behaviors or changes in mood that indicates suicidal or homicidal intent or plan and creates safety plans when neededInitiates appropriate and timely interventions that are culturally and linguistically sensitive and appropriate to the family’s needsFacilitate counseling program according to Board of Behavioral Services standards and regulationsCollaborate with department staff to plan and implement program activitiesWork collaboratively with all APCH programs to facilitate psycho-educational support to members and training for staff membersCollaborate with the community to develop relationships and partnerships with other organizationsRefer and report per mandated requirements any issues of abuse and neglect according to the California lawDocument member progress through case notes and Individual Program Plans (IPP)Compile monthly case studies and reportsOther ResponsibilitiesRemain informed of best practices with regard to the administration of therapeutic servicesRemain informed of requirements imposed by grantors and other funding sources including the federal governmentAttends internal or external meetings as requested or requiredMaintains strong relationships with department’s external collaborating partnersRegular attendance and accountability as well as punctuality with regard to work meetings and commitmentsAdhere to the highest ethical, legal, and professional standards and values at all timesAssist with the supervision of members during program hours, special events and field tripsServe as a mentor and role model for membersAttend all required program meetings and eventsPerform other tasks as assignedQualificationsThe ideal APCH Clinical Therapist is someone who has a love for helping others and will be an individual who carries high personal and professional standards and enjoys partnering with others to achieve successful outcomes.
