Unit Description:Total # of beds in the unit: 15.
Nurse to patient ratios 1 CST and 1 RN per patient.
No Ancillary Staff.
Patients range in age from Neonates to Geriatrics.
Staff works in 8 hour shifts.
Unit patient population: Ophthalmology, Head & Neck, Podiatry, Gyn & General Surgery, etc.
Special Unit Procedures that could cause ethical issues: D& E, Blood products/transfusions.
Documentation System: Peri-Op Record via Health Connect OP Time.
Supplemental Staff required to float when necessary.
