Assistant Nursery & Cloning Manager

JOB DUTIES
Performs installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems.
Visually inspect all plants for pests and perform spot checks for microscopic pests
Provides cuttings for the cloners and oversees the production of clones.
Prepares healthy backup mothers for a seasonal rotation preparing plants 5 months ahead of expected seasonal changes.
Quarantine and treats plants received from outside sources, often preparing a storage location.
Directs and coordinates worker activities such as planting, irrigation, plant manipulation, enforcing sterile practices
Assist in maintaining a clean, efficient, professional, and safe site at all time
Must have aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, timekeeping, etc.
Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback
Ensure safe work environment for all employees
Use required PPE per OSHA regulations
Perform other duties as assigned
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21+ years old
Flexible availability for work hours
Ability to maintain a positive attitude
Ability to identify malicious and beneficial insects
Ability to identify viruses and mutations
Ability to efficiently collect and report data
Capable of effectively utilizing employee strengths to complete daily and weekly tasks
Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Requires prioritization and multi-tasking
Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office)
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Must be a self-start work independently and direct team
This position requires a 40-hour minimum work week
Willingness to work weekends and be on call for emergencies
MENTAL/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to direct employees assess the amount of work that needs to be done daily and create a daily schedule for employees
Must be extremely flexible in the case of upper management decisions, and able to change plans on the fly
Ability to work in conditions typically found in a greenhouse with high humidity and varying temperatures, with a fair amount of moisture present
Ability to exert up to 15-50 pounds multiple times per shift
Ability to balance, reach grasp while climbing on a step stool and/ or ladder
Ability to crouch, grasp and lift product above shoulders in order to lift product from the floor properly
Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time as job duties require
Ability to use required tools to perform job duties
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED
At least 1-2 years of experience in a nursery environment
At least 2-3-years’ experience in a supervisory role
Travel may be required per company needs and must provide a clean DMV record
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
