Managers at Startr Co.

play a significant role in the agency as part of the leadership team and are responsible for the success of their accounts and team.

Managers are crucial senior day-to-day client contacts and are responsible for coaching junior team members through challenges to success.

The ideal candidate for this position has thorough experience leading teams to success in both media relations and influencer work, is self-motivated, can work autonomously, and is confident in their leadership, communications, and counsel to clients and team members.

Must be located in Los Angeles, Denver or NYC area or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Leading several accounts, projects, and team members simultaneously Serving as the senior day-to-day client contact Providing ongoing client counsel and recommendations Becoming an expert in client businesses and industries Management and oversight of account success, including KPIs and overall client satisfaction Proactively identifying opportunities to add value to accounts through new/additional services Identifying and proactively reporting to executives on any areas of client or team concern that need to be addressed Initiating and leading employee reviews and development plans Coaching and training junior team members on PR and client relations best practices Creating PR strategy to guide the work of junior team members and proactively pivoting when strategy needs to be adjusted Guiding, editing, and approving all media relations and influencer work (media/influencer lists, pitches, press materials, etc.) Creating client and agency presentations Leading/contributing to client and agency calls, video conferences, and meetings Leading agency brainstorms Leading/participating in company and client virtual and/or in-person events Contributing to conversations around budgets and staffing as part of the larger management team Contributing to new business proposals and meetings as needed Working with the full management team and executives to better company quality of work, address employee issues, establish the most effective processes, etc.

Education and Skills Requirements:
BA in Mass Communications, Public Relations or related field 6+ years of PR experience Management experience with the ability to work with and mentor a range of personalities Client relations experience with the ability and confidence to act as a senior client contact Self-starter, able to work independently as well as in groups Strong ability to prioritize, problem-solve and be resourceful Able to handle fast-paced PR environment Able to work well under pressure Attention to detail Able to handle any/all confidential information and issues in a sensitive manner Able to work towards short term and long term client goals Ability to grasp “big picture” ideas and think independently Desire to grow and learn with the company Great interpersonal skills Professional appearance and demeanor Positive attitude
