Enphase Energy is looking for an individual that is interested in working as a member of our Policy and Government Affairs Team.

This Director level position will report to the Senior Director of Policy and Government Affairs and be responsible for supporting federal and state level policy and regulatory engagement.

Preferred location for the position is Washington, D.C.

with willingness to travel regularly in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and monitor all federal policy and regulatory activity relevant to the successful implementation of Enphase’s products and services including but not limited to markets for grid services and microgrids
  • Direct participation in federal and state stakeholder proceedings related to interconnection, grid services, microgrids, domestic manufacturing, cybersecurity and any other stakeholder processes that advance the implementation of Enphase products and services
  • Engage with national and regional trade associations through participation in relevant committees to advanced policy and regulatory goals important to Enphase
  • Provide subject matter expertise as a member of a number of cross-functional teams to inform product development, marketing, business development, sales, and investor relations
  • Track and monitor government funding and procurement opportunities for storage, grid services and microgrids and work on cross-functional team to inform the development of RFP proposals for product demonstration, commercialization and procurement
  • Work with internal and external legal counsel to advise on trade and tax related initiatives that inform and impact product development initiatives
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for consideration by the executive team to help inform business decisions related to product development, market participation and competitive strategy

Skills, Knowledges, Special Attributes

  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state policy and regulatory stakeholder processes including experience intervening in proceedings
  • Strong understanding of policy and regulatory drivers for distributed energy resources (DERs) including existing incentives, interconnection tariffs, rates, and procurement programs
  • History of successful participation in high-profile policy and regulatory proceedings
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively by distilling complex issues into clear succinct policy and regulatory recommendations
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a challenging fast-paced environment
  • Strong people management skills and experience working on cross-functional teams as a leading contributor on policy and regulatory issues
  • Self-starter with proven ability to manage and lead initiatives across cross-functional teams

Education and Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience working as a policy and regulatory expert in the renewable energy industry for a corporation
  • At least five years of experience working on federal policy and regulatory issues in the renewable energy industry with a strong focus on the residential and commercial solar + storage markets
  • At least five years of experience working on state policy and regulatory issues in the renewable energy industry with a strong focus on the residential and commercial solar + storage markets
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field

Travel:

  • Frequent travel within the United States
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
