Modis is recruiting for a Structural/Computational Design Specialist with the skillsets below to join our client’s team. This is a direct hire opportunity with our client.
This position is fully remote and can be worked from anywhere in the US!
Requirements for the Structural / Computational Specialist appointed to this role be an expert in several different areas, including:
Create and analyze large data sets from parametric & building information models
Research and deploy unique software solutions for complex design challenges
Explore innovative, sustainable building materials and processes
Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary design teams including civil and structural engineers
Worked extensively with Revit and Dynamo, prepared tools to automate design tasks
Analyze and rationalize complex building geometry utilizing advanced parametric models
Provide technical software support for multiple software platforms for over 500 staff
Expert user of digital production platforms; Revit, Civil3D, Dynamo, InfraWorks, Rhino, Grasshopper in the context of the above.
Creator and author of Dynamo definitions using otb Dynamo nodes as well as creating and maintaining custom created nodes and workflows in Autodesk Design Script and Python
Parametric modelling, creation and development of smart objects, Revit Families, and adaptive components with customizable functionality and custom-built parameters for automation
Digital tools deployment, ensure that development is focused on production team usage, for example, automated workflows can be operated by technicians using Dynamo Player or Orkestra, once development has reached a suitable status, script libraries and smart objects can be packaged and deployed, provide guidance.
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS plus at least 6 years of relevant experience in AEC projects working as Computational Designer/Computational BIM Modeler; preferably transportation infrastructure projects (bridges, tunnels, and miscellaneous complex structures) or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Must be willing to be flexible for global working hours from time to time.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience within transportation infrastructure projects
Technical design and construction knowledge in bridges and structures design.
Working knowledge in available opensource plug-ins/Add-ins e.g., pyRevit, RhinoInside
Working knowledge of any of the following will be considered favorable: Revit, Revit API, Forge, Dynamo, Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, RhinoInside, Python, C#, Excel, Power BI
