Role Responsibilities

  • Experience with optical elements and digital cameras
  • Design, develop, build, and test optical components, systems, and products
  • Experience packaging small PCAs
  • Sources, selects, and qualifies components used in the company’s technology
  • Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability
  • Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources
  • Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability, and implements changes
  • Will be involved in all design phases: R&D, POC, Prototype, Pre-production, Production
  • Hands-on integration and collaboration with multiple disciplines software, electrical, and other engineering disciplines
  • Develop test methodologies for components and systems evaluation
  • Maintain and update product functional specifications
  • System level understanding and whole picture approach to development
  • Ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment and fast-growing R&D team
  • Innovative, self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude
  • May require up to 20% travel
  • Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and other Engineering Teams

Experience & Skills Required

  • BS degree in Engineering (Required) MA in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
  • Mechanical Engineer should have a basic understanding of manufacturing mechanical systems within the auto industry.
  • +5 years direct experience
