Role Responsibilities
- Experience with optical elements and digital cameras
- Design, develop, build, and test optical components, systems, and products
- Experience packaging small PCAs
- Sources, selects, and qualifies components used in the company’s technology
- Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability
- Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources
- Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability, and implements changes
- Will be involved in all design phases: R&D, POC, Prototype, Pre-production, Production
- Hands-on integration and collaboration with multiple disciplines software, electrical, and other engineering disciplines
- Develop test methodologies for components and systems evaluation
- Maintain and update product functional specifications
- System level understanding and whole picture approach to development
- Ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment and fast-growing R&D team
- Innovative, self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude
- May require up to 20% travel
- Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and other Engineering Teams
Experience & Skills Required
- BS degree in Engineering (Required) MA in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
- Mechanical Engineer should have a basic understanding of manufacturing mechanical systems within the auto industry.
- +5 years direct experience
