Role Responsibilities* Looking for a generalist to integrate and optimize and maintain the assembly of TuSimple AV components onto existing and future truck platforms* Experience with a variety of mechanical; aero structural; cabling; and other elements & systems* Experience with thermal mitigation technologies and overall thermal management* Sources, selects, and qualifies components used with the company’s technology* Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability* Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources* Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability, and implements changes* Will be involved in all design phases: R&D, POC, Prototype, Pre-production, Production* Hands-on integration and collaboration with multiple disciplines electrical, and other engineering disciplines* Maintain and update product functional specifications* System level understanding and whole picture approach to development* Ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment and fast-growing R&D team* Innovative, self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude* May require up to 20% travel* Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and other Engineering TeamsExperience & Skills Required* BS degree in Engineering* CAD: SolidWorks preferred, +10,000 hours* Mechanical Engineer should have a basic understanding of manufacturing mechanical systems within the auto industry.* +5 years direct experienceTuSimple Benefits* 100% employer-paid healthcare premiums for you and your family* Work visa sponsorship available* Relocation assistance available* Breakfast, lunch, and dinner served every day* Full kitchens on every floor with unlimited snacks, drinks, special treats, fruits, meals, and more* Stock options / equity* Gym membership reimbursement* Monthly team building budget* Learning/education budget* Employer-paid life insurance* Employer-paid long and short disability TuSimple is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
